Vegan feast @ The Wild Fig
Hi guys! I think this is officially (and unofficially ) my first local menu review.A very exciting & delicious endeavour.I’ve had this on my To Do List for quite a while because I want to support local business and local traders who offer vegan items on their menus.
I’m a big supporter of local growers and local business and I believe we should all support them, in favor of international chains.Without small local business such as independent cafes, local restaurants and family businesses, the local food scene would be pretty boring and not only that, but it would be pretty standardized.Local cafes and restaurants support local growers and farmers and other small businesses in their supply chain (such as my dessert business Raw by Chris) – so there’s that as an added bonus.
It is also important for our food/ingredients to travel less and be sourced locally – google the global agribusiness and its impact on the environment and you will know what a difference it makes and how easy it is to reduce our carbon footprint by shopping and supporting local.My recent visit to The Wild Fig in Scarborough was pretty epic.We ate all of the vegan food and enjoyed beautiful almond lattes.
