Jump to RecipeIn honor of St.Patrick’s Day, I’ve whipped up a healthy shamrock shake, aka smoothie, that’s minty fresh and radiates a festive, vibrant green. St.Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays because spoiler alert: I’m Irish.
I grew up celebrating St.Paddy’s every year with soda bread and corned beef and cabbage, and eventually a pint of Guinness.I love everything about my Irish heritage.
I love the music.The singing.The dancing.
When I traveled to Ireland, it’s no wonder I felt right at home.St.Patrick’s Day is all about the green so I thought I would update my shamrock shake, aka smoothie, recipe.
I first created this a handful of years ago and looking back at the recipe (and the blog post), it was clear I had different nutrition priorities then.For example, the original recipe called for maca powder and wheatgrass powder.I can’t remember the last time I had those ingredients in my cupboard.
Probably five years ago when I first made this recipe! LOL.Those ingredients are ridiculously expensive and pretty inaccessible.So, five years ago me apologizes to you.
I hope this version makes up for it.This shamrock shake doesn’t call for any powders or trendy ingredients.It’s just a basic green smoothie with some fresh mint and vanilla to give it that shamrock flavor.
